We've Gone Digital Our office has gone digital with respect to our x-rays. This was a big upgrade for us but one we've discussed for quite some time. This upgrade makes it possible to diagnose more problems. The radiation exposure is generally less, the images are better and the x-rays are available much faster! If you know someone who is in pain and has no idea what the cause is, get them in the office so that we can do a full exam including x-ray if necessary - even if that someone is you! To see is to know - not to see is to guess! If you don't have insurance that covers x-ray, take advantage of our Time-of-Service Discount. X-Rays start at just $11 per view! Involved in an Accident? We Can Help! Accident's happen - but what should you do when you are in one? This article is going to give assistance to you if you're involved in an accident or if you witness one. This guide is a general guide and may not work for every situation. A 9-1-1 advisor can help with further instruction on what to do in your situation. Use your best judgment; some scenarios require addition or omission of steps. 1) Call 9-1-1. That means always make sure you have a phone with you at all times. If it's a very minor collision, this step is optional but suggested. 2) Assess the situation; the 9-1-1 operator will assist you with this. Are there medical emergencies? Is there a downed electrical wire? Be very astute to your surroundings and situation. 3) If you are able to assist, help those in need being very careful of traffic and dangerous obstacles. If you have to get close to - or in - the road, be very careful; ask traffic to stop if needed. If there appears to be an injury involving someone's neck or spine, don't move the victim. Ask for advice from your 9-1-1 advisor before assisting. If the victim(s) is(are) conscious, ask for their help and permission first. If you're the one who needs help, yell for help. 4) If you can, take pictures. In most accident cases, there will be no immediate emergencies or threats to work around. Use your phone, a digital camera or a disposable camera. I always make sure to have an unexpired disposable camera so that I don't tie up my phone by using its camera. 5) Make sure anyone badly injured is taken to the hospital - including you if that is the case. Have Your Chiropractor Evaluate You! When you're able to, get a full skeletal, muscular and nerve evaluation from your Chiropractor even if you don't think you have anything wrong with you. A lot of times, symptoms won't come until the next day, a week or even in some cases, a few months after the accident. The longer you wait, the more complications you'll end up with regarding injuries and their manifestations. You May Not Have to Pay! Remember, in most cases, a person involved in an accident (driver and passengers) can get their care paid for by the insurance companies even if that person was at fault. In fact, most of you have already paid for care by paying your premium. Why in the world would you not get it checked out? In our office, for example, we are going to evaluate your entire system to ensure you have the best chance at fully healing. Even if you don't have medical benefits, your care may be covered by third party; to find out, call our office after the accident as soon as you are reasonably able. 618-234-8300.
